Improv: Q&A
Q: What is Improv?
A: Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Often improvisers will take a suggestion from the audience, or draw on some other source of inspiration to get started.
Q: Why is improv important?
A:Improv is often considered the best work for helping actors to build confidence, courage, creativity, and teaches them to trust their instincts. Also, it's helpful in teaching (anyone) to stay out of their head, listen, and respond honestly.
Q: Do I have to be "funny" to enjoy improv class?
A: Not at all. While most improv performances and exercises are comedic, improv can encapsulate any range of emotion.
Q: Is there a final performance for this class?
A: YES! 2 Live Improv shows, Oct 4th and Nov 15th.
